The speech will not be released before its broadcast but will be available on the Royal Danish House’s website, Kongehuset.dk/en, immediately after it is delivered.

New Year’s levee and banquet will be held on Monday, 1 January 2018 at 19.30 at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg

The guests arrive from 18.25.

Participants: The government, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament and specially-invited guests. HM The Queen, TRH The Crown Prince and The Crown Princess, TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie and HH Princess Elisabeth will be present.

There will be three press pools, which must be applied for beforehand. It is not possible to move between the three positions.

Pool 1 (limited space): On the palace square by the entrance to the Entrance Hall, where the guests arrive from 18.25-19.00 and the royal family arrives during the 19.10-19.15 time period.

Pool 2 (1 still photographer): In the Entrance Hall, where the guests and the royal family arrive and the Royal Life Guard is inspected.

Pool 3 (10 slots): By the Main Staircase, where the guests pass by during the 18.25-19.00 time period.

Meeting time for all pools: 17.30 by the Main Gate, Christian VII's Palace, where there will be a security sweep by PET.

The guests arrive from 09.30.

Participants: The justices of the Supreme Court of Denmark and the officer corps of the Royal Life Guard and the Guard Hussar Regiment. HM The Queen and the Crown Prince Couple will be present.

Members of the media may stand in an assigned area at the Main Gate.

Meeting time: 09.15 by the Main Gate.

New Year’s levee for the diplomatic corps on Wednesday, 3 January 2018 at 11.30 at Christiansborg Palace

The guests arrive from 10.50.

Participants: The present chiefs of mission of the diplomatic corps and their spouses as well as side-accredited ambassadors and their spouses. The Queen and the Crown Prince Couple will be present.

There will be two press pools. Members of the media with access to both pools will be escorted from Pool 1 to Pool 2.

Pool 1 (35 slots): Hall of the Halberdiers, where the guests and the royal family members arrive from 10.50-11.30.

Pool 2 (20 slots): The balcony in the Great Hall, where photographing may take place during the presentation of the diplomats. Afterwards, journalists and photographers depart Christiansborg Palace, approx. 12.00.

Meeting time: 9.45 by the Queen’s Gate, Prince Jørgen’s Courtyard, where there will be a security sweep by PET.

New Year’s levee on Thursday, 4 January 2018 from 09.30 at Christiansborg Palace

The guests arrive from 09.00-12.20.

Participants: Officers from the Defence and the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the I., II. and III. ranking classes, and invited representatives of larger national organizations and royal patronages. The Queen and the Crown Prince Couple will be present.

Pool 1 (35 slots): In the Hall of the Halberdiers, where guests and the royal family members arrive from 09.00-10.25.

Pool 2 (very few slots): At the Queen’s Staircase, where the national organizations and the royal patronages arrive from 12.00-12.20.

There are no additional opportunities for photographing inside the palace.

Meeting time: 7.30 by the Queen’s Gate, Prince Jørgen’s Courtyard, where there will be a security sweep by PET.

Coach ride
On 4 January, The Queen, escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment’s mounted squadron, rides in the Gold Coach from Amalienborg to Christiansborg Palace at 09.10 and from Christiansborg Palace to Amalienborg at approximately 13.00.
