Her Majesty The Queen receives His Excellency The President of Italy Sergio Mattarella and the President’s daughter, Laura Mattarella, for a luncheon at Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg on Thursday, 8 October 2019. The President will be on an official visit to Denmark that day, when he, among other things, will take part in a meeting with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. 

When The Queen visited Rome in 2017 in connection with the 50th anniversary of The Danish Institute’s building in the Italian capital, President Sergio Mattarella received Her Majesty as a guest at a luncheon at Palazzo del Quirinale, the presidential palace. A year later, when the Crown Prince Couple led a business promotional campaign in Italy, Their Royal Highnesses were likewise received at a luncheon with the President.  

At The Queen’s luncheon, there will be two media pools, which must be applied for in advance. 

Pool 1 (limited space): Entrance Hall steps, Palace Square, where the President arrives. 

Pool 2 (limited space): The Great Hall, Christian VII’s Palace, where The Queen receives the President.

Meeting time for the media is 11:30 by the Main Gate to Christian VII’s Palace. An application for accreditation including desired pool assignment, name, media affiliation, title and contact information must be sent to kom@kongehuset.dk by 10:00 on 7 October at the latest.

Accredited members of the media will receive a message about pool assignment by 16:00 on 7 October at the latest. Those covering the event must bring their press cards.
