"From knowledge to habits" and the Children’s Heart Foundation’s research grants
HRH The Crown Princess starts the new health project “Fra viden til vaner” (“From knowledge to habits”) and awards the Children’s Heart Foundation’s research grants.
The Crown Princess visits the day care centre Koglehuset in Hostelbro on Thursday, 3 October at 10.00 to help kick off the health project “From knowledge to habits”. During her visit, The Crown Princess gets an opportunity to greet children at the centre and hear about the health project, which is a cooperative effort between the Children’s Heart Foundation, the Danish Heart Foundation, and the Hostelbro Municipality. The Crown Princess participates in her role as patron of the Danish Heart Foundation.
After the visit in Koglehuset, The Crown Princess will award the Children’s Heart Foundation’s research grants to three researchers who do scientific work on heart illnesses that affect children. Afterwards, the Children’s Heart Foundation’s Performance Team together with professional dancers will put on the show “Dancing for a cause”. Then, journalist Thomas Aue Sobols reads aloud from his forthcoming children’s book “Kære Albert” (“Dear Albert”), which is sponsored by the Children’s Heart Foundation.
The health project “From knowledge to habits” involves additional training of teaching personnel, new communications initiatives and informative children’s theatre, all of which will increase health among the youngest children in the Hostelbro Municipality.
The collaboration between the Danish Heart Foundation, the Children’s Heart Foundation and the Hostelbro Municipality additionally involves projects among young people at the municipality’s vocational schools and projects focusing on optimized rehabilitation of heart patients. The collaboration’s overall aim is to create the best practice model for how non-profit organizations can contribute to the development of the municipality’s health services.
