H.M. The Queen's 40th Jubilee as Reign

By King Frederik 9th's death on 14 January 1972 the Throne passed to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe 2. The demise of the Crown was announced on 15 January from the balcony of Christiansborg Palace by Prime Minister Jens Otto Krag.


In 2012 H.M. The Queen's 40th Jubilee will be marked by an official programme from 13 - 15 January.
