Pas de deux royal at ARoS

HM The Queen and HRH The Prince Consort attend the opening of an exhibition of their own works at the Aarhus art museum ARoS on Friday, 11 October.

From 12 October 2013 – 23 February 2014, ARoS shows the exhibition “PAS DE DEUX ROYAL – an artistic meeting” with selected works of The Queen and The Prince Consort.

The exhibition consists of 150 works, both older as well as newer works, in which the artistic themes are divided into 10 galleries totalling nearly 1,000 square metres of space.

In “PAS DE DEUX ROYAL – an artistic meeting”, you can, among other things, see The Queen’s landscape paintings, church textiles, scenographic works and decoupage as well as The Prince Consort’s poetry and sculptures. 

The Queen and The Prince Consort participate in the official opening of the exhibition on Friday, 11 October at 17.30. In connection with the opening, The Queen and The Prince Consort will respectively read poems aloud. The Crown Prince Couple will also be present at the opening.

On the occasion of the exhibition, The Queen and The Prince Consort will participate in a press conference on Friday, 11 October at 12.45 at ARoS Art Museum in Aarhus.

ROOM 1 - INTRO

A number of works originating from The Queen and The Prince Consort’s younger years. 

ROOM 2 – FANTASY AND REALITY
The Queen’s watercolours from Greenland and The Prince Consort’s fabulous animals in bronze. 

ROOM 3 - CREATION
A collection of works with Biblical history and Christianity as the recurring theme.

 

ROOM 4 - LOVE - NATURE
A number of The Queen’s red and green paintings and The Prince Consort’s torso figures. 

ROOM 5 – THE POEMS
The Prince Consort’s poems.

ROOM 6 – THE BLACK ROOM
Works that The Queen and The Prince Consort have made in collaboration with other artists.

ROOM 7 - BLUE - GREEN
A number of The Queen’s blue-green paintings and The Prince Consort’s sculpture Hommage à Jorn, 2010.

ROOM 8 – NATURE AS FORM
A series of The Queen’s stone and bone images and The Prince Consort’s sculptures Open heart and Janus. 

ROOM 9 - DÉCOUPAGE
A collection of The Queen’s decoupage works. 

ROOM 10 – NEW MOVEMENT
The Queen and The Prince Consort’s newest works.
