Presidential palace

Lithuania’s President H.E. Dalia Grybauskaite bids HRH The Crown Prince welcome to Lithuania. Official photo and guest book signing.

Bang & Olufsen visit

The Crown Prince visits Bang & Olufsen’s shop in Vilnius on the occasion of the company’s 20th anniversary in Lithuania. During the visit, the proprietor of the shop will give a presentation of its history.

The exhibit "Interrelations"

The Crown Prince will be present at the opening of the exhibition "Interrelations" featuring modern Danish art and will be shown around the exhibition by Danish artists who have contributed works to it. Afterwards, there will be a reception. 
The artists were trained at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the exhibition will be on display from 9 October until 2 November in Vilnius.

Wednesday, 9 October

Danish-Lithuanian Business Forum

The Crown Prince participates at the opening of a Danish-Lithuanian Business Forum and gives a speech after the President speaks. Afterwards, The Crown Prince attends the opening of the sector seminars “Renovation and Energy Efficiency in Buildings” and “Food, Food Technology and Retail”.
A number of business leaders and decision-makers from Denmark and Lithuania will take part in the Danish-Lithuanian Business Forum. They will have an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas about new initiatives and about the establishment of possible cooperation in connection with business management in Lithuania.

Danske Bank

The Crown Prince visits Danske Bank and helps start the competition "Financial Literacy" for Lithuanian children. In connection with the visit, Lithuanian school children get an opportunity to ask The Crown Prince questions via a live video link.

The exhibit "A Modern Royal Household"

The Crown Prince visits The Vytautas Art Museum and is shown the exhibition "A Modern Royal Household", in which the restoration and the artistic decoration of Frederik VIII’s Palace are portrayed. "A Modern Royal Household" was created as a part of the culture programme during the Danish EU presidency and has been shown in several countries. The exhibition opened on 3 October in Vilnius.

Old Town Hall

The Crown Prince visits the city hall and is greeted by the mayor in Vilnius, after which there will be sightseeing on bicycles.  The tour starts at the city hall and ends in the Užupis district with a stop along the way at Vilnius University.

Užupis

The Crown Prince takes part in the unveiling of a plaque that has a Danish translation of Užupis' constitution. Students who study Danish at Vilnius University will read the constitution aloud in Danish. Užupis is one of the oldest districts in Vilnius and is situated on the outskirts of the old town centre. As a self-declared republic, Užupis has, among other things, its own constitution, flag and currency.

Gala dinner

The President hosts a gala dinner, which takes place in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, with participation of representatives of Danish companies and other invited guests. The palace was originally built in the 15th century but was torn down in 1801. In 2002, reconstruction started, and now the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania stands rebuilt.

Thursday, 10 October

Business brunch

The President hosts a business lunch in the presidential palace.

Opening ceremony on the occasion of "Danish Days"

The Crown Prince takes part in the opening of "Danish Days", which has the aim of attracting Danish companies that sell consumer goods to Lithuania.
"Danish Days" takes place in Panorama, which is one of the largest shopping centres in Vilnius. During the visit, The Crown Prince gets an opportunity to visit the Danish shops Ecco and Pandora, which are represented in the centre. Several events will take place during the course of "Danish Days", including the building of a larger LEGO installation for children.
