Programme for visit in Myanmar
HRH The Crown Princess travels with Minister for Development Cooperation Rasmus Helveg Petersen to Myanmar on 10-12 January 2014. The visit focuses on the difficult conditions for women in the poor Southeast Asian country, which after 50 years of a military junta has become opened up for democratic reforms, international development cooperation and foreign investments.
The Crown Princess is the patron for the UNFPA and the Danish Refugee Council and will visit one of UNFPA’s centres as well as camps for internally displaced persons, supported by the Danish Refugee Council. The visit also focuses on a project that will be supported by Danmarks Indsamling 2014, which takes place 1 February 2014.
UNFPA's Youth Development Centre

HRH The Crown Princess visits UNFPA's Youth Development Centre in Yangon, where young people there will perform a dance and music series used in the centre’s outreach and instructional work. The young teachers from the centre will provide a briefing on the challenges that young Burmese people face. The Crown Princess will tour the centre and greet youths.
UNFPA is the UN’s Population Fund, which works to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, that every birth is safe, and that young people do not get HIV/AIDS.

Marie Stopes International Clinic

The Crown Princess visits Marie Stopes International Clinic in Thingangyun, Yangon. The clinic will be presented and The Crown Princess will greet its patients.
Marie Stopes International Clinic is a global organization that works with family planning, infant care, HIV testing and treatment. The organization has carried out work in Myanmar since 1998.

Say Tha Mar Gyi

The Crown Princess visits the camp Say Tha Mar Gyi in Sittwe, where internally displaced Muslims stay, and greets the recipients of help from the Danish Refugee Council. The camp will also be financially supported by Danmarks Indsamling 2014.
In the state of Rakhine, more than 115,000 people are displaced and residing in temporary camps.
