The Crown Prince Couple and Denmark's Collection 2013

Denmark’s Collection 2013 concludes on 8 February with a fundraising show on DR 1 at 19.00. During the TV show, interviews and features with the Crown Prince Couple will be shown.

In the features, HRH The Crown Prince is followed during a running event in Aarhus to benefit Denmark’s Collection 2013 – the run is part of the Aarhus 1900, DGI and DR P4 collection project 'Gi' dine ben til Afrika' ('Give your legs to Africa'), which takes place on 7 February.

Viewers can also follow HRH The Crown Princess during her stay in Mozambique, where she as the patron of the UN Population Fund visited several of the fund’s development projects and projects supported by Danida.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL COLLECTION

21 African countries south of the Sahara Desert find themselves in an acute food supply crisis, and nearly 340 million people in Africa lack access to basic necessities such as clean drinking water. Those are some of the areas that DR, in co-operation with 12 aid organizations and Danes, highlights this year in Denmark’s Collection.

Denmark’s Collection was first held in February 2007 and has brought in more than 500 million Danish crowns for development projects in Africa. In 2012, 87 million crowns were collected for displaced refugee children.
