HRH the Crown Princess and Ms. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of The Clinton Foundation, will meet on Sunday March 9 in New York at a dinner hosted by the Consul General of Denmark.

The Crown Princess and Ms. Clinton will discuss a number of issues pertaining to their respective work for global health, empowerment and rights, with particular focus on women, children and vulnerable groups.

HRH the Crown Princess is in New York on the occasion of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in her capacity as patron of UNFPA and Maternity Worldwide and member of the High Level Task Force for ICDP.

The Crown Princess is active in creating awareness on global maternal health and child mortality issues and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including access to family planning. She has travelled with NGO’s and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on various visits to countries challenged by these issues. In 2007, The Crown Princess founded The Mary Foundation with the mission of fighting social isolation, based on the belief that “everyone has the right to belong”. Under her leadership, the foundation brings together untraditional key partners to develop projects in Denmark that create opportunities and empower children, adults and families who find themselves socially isolated or excluded from society. The Crown Princess was selected as a Young Global Leader in 2012 by the World Economic Forum.

Ms. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, works with her parents, President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, to drive the vision and work of the Clinton Foundation. Ms. Clinton focuses especially on the Foundation's health programs, including the Clinton Health Access Initiative, which strengthens health care and access to lifesaving services in the developing world; the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which fights childhood obesity in the United States; and the Clinton Health Matters Initiative, which addresses preventable disease in the United States. She also established – and continues to lead – the Clinton Foundation Day of Action program.

The Crown Princess and Ms. Clinton have met previously, when they both attended the Women Deliver conference in Kuala Lumpur in May 2013.
