Trade and Culture Campaign in The United Arab Emirates
HRH Prince Joachim participates starting today, 25 February, in a 4-day trade and culture campaign in The United Arab Emirates, where visits will be paid to the cities Dubai, Al Ain and the capital, Abu Dhabi.
Prince Joachim’s programme focuses primarily on Danish business activities in a number of key sectors, including food products, health, the gas and oil industry, and sustainable energy solutions.
In Dubai, Prince Joachim will, among other things, take part in the opening of the food products expo Gulfood, which is among the largest in the world. In addition, The Prince will visit the Danish stand, where 25 of the country’s businesses are expected to be represented. During the visit in Dubai, The Prince will inspect the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.
The programme also includes a visit to the archaeological centre Hili Archaeological Park, which Danish archaeologists from Moesgaard Museum discovered and excavated back in the 1960s. Danish archaeologists have been engaged in the many historic excavations in The United Arab Emirates and other Gulf States. In 2010, a large exhibition focusing on the Danish discoveries was held in Abu Dhabi.
In Abu Dhabi, Prince Joachim will also meet with representatives of large Danish companies in the region and pay cultural visits to, among other places, the large national mosque named the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as well as the cultural project Saadiyat Island, where branches of the Guggenheim and Louvre museums are under construction, among others.
