The 80th birthdays of the Norwegian King and Queen will be celebrated in Oslo on 9-10 May 2017. HM King Harald of Norway turned 80 on 21 February, and HM Queen Sonja of Norway turns 80 on 4 July.

HM The Queen and The Crown Prince Couple will participate in a gala banquet hosted by The King and The Queen on 9 May at The Royal Palace in Oslo.

On 10 May, The Queen, The Crown Prince Couple, and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie will take part in a sailing tour and luncheon aboard the Royal Yacht Norge and in the Norwegian government’s celebratory banquet at the Oslo Opera House in the evening. The banquet is the government’s gift to The King and The Queen. 

During the visit in Oslo, the royal family will stay on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog.
