HRH The Crown Princess visits Burkina Faso
HRH The Crown Princess pays a visit together with foreign minister Kristian Jensen in Burkina Faso from 27-28 April 2016. The visit focuses on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls.
Among other things, The Crown Princess and the foreign minister will visit a Danish-supported health clinic, meet the population in a Bourkinate village, and speak with politicians and organizations about equal rights, maternal mortality and child marriages.
During the visit, The Crown Princess and the foreign minister will also meet with Burkina Faso’s president and members of the government.
Denmark has a long history of development cooperation with Burkina Faso, which extends back to 1973. Among other things, the Danish development assistance goes to providing Bourkinate families with access to information, prevention and health services in connection with pregnancy and childbirth.
The visit in Burkina Faso originally was to have taken place in January but was postponed at that time due to a terror attack in the capital Ouagadougou.
