The Crown Prince Couple visit Latvia on 6-7 December
In December, the Crown Prince Couple travel to Latvia to take part in the celebration of the country’s 100 years of independence. Beyond the official celebration, the visit will focus on art, design and history, and Their Royal Highnesses will participate in a number of arrangements in the capital city Riga during two days.
As the guests of HE President Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady Iveta Vējone, the Crown Prince Couple will be received at Riga Castle Square on 6 December. Afterwards, the Crown Prince Couple will take part in a ceremony at Latvia’s Freedom Monument and attend an evening concert by the ensemble Concerto Copenhagen, which will perform in the Great Guild concert hall.
During the Latvia visit, the Crown Prince Couple will be introduced to Denmark’s special contribution to the 100th anniversary celebration, which includes an architectural competition. The winner gets to create the basis for how the former Scandinavian tobacco factory in Riga will be converted into a new cultural center and incubator for the creative industry. To conclude the visit, the Crown Prince Couple will have a guided tour of Latvia’s National History Museum.
