On Sunday, 27 October, the Crown Prince Couple participate in a gala concert on the occasion of the Opera House’s 40th jubilee.
The Crown Prince Couple take part as patrons of the 40th jubilee at the gala concert, where a total of 4000 persons will join in celebrating the anniversary. During the gala concert, HRH The Crown Princess will give a speech following comments by the Opera House’s director.
Among the artists who will appear on stage during the concert are the Australian film director Baz Luhrmann and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The symphony orchestra marks the conclusion of the gala concert by performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, which was played at the Opera House’s opening in 1973. Accompanying in the performance of the piece will be soloists from Opera Australia and voices from the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. At the concert, there will also be performances by The Australian Ballet.
The concert will be held on the Opera House’s Forecourt, and the Crown Prince Couple will be there from 17.30.
