Royal foundations support Denmark's collection


Denmark’s Collection 2013 concluded this evening with a fundraising show on DR 1. The Queen and The Prince Consort’s and The Crown Prince Couple’s foundations combined supported the collection with 400,000 kr.

Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik’s Foundation has granted 200,000 kr. to Denmark’s Collection. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s Foundation has earmarked 200.000 kr. for the collection’s projects in Africa. .
During the TV show, interviews and features with the Crown Prince Couple were shown.
In the segments, viewers follow HRH The Crown Prince during a running event in Aarhus for the benefit of Denmark’s Collection 2013 and HRH The Crown Princess in Mozambique, where The Crown Princess as patron of the UN’s Population Fund has visited several of the fund’s development projects and projects supported by Danida.
Denmark’s Collection was first held in February 2007 and has collected more than 500 million kr. for development projects in Africa. In 2012, 87 million kroner were collected for displaced refugee children.
