From 24 – 27 March Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will pay an official visit to Denmark during which Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Prince Consort will act as hosts.
The visit will revolve around the historical and diplomatic ties that unite the two countries, and will, among other things, be focusing on green technology and new opportunities for inter-state trade.
During the official visit The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Avedøre power station, the residential area Gyldenris Park, The Citadel – where soldiers who have been deployed in Afghanistan will be greeted – as well as participate in a Hamlet workshop organised by “the Royal Shakespeare Company” at Kronborg Castle.Furthermore, Their Royal Highnesses will visit a university to experience ground breaking green technological initiatives, as well as a sustainable organic farm.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall’s visit to Denmark will round off Their Royal Highnesses’ trip to The Nordic Countries from 20 – 27 March, which will be a prelude to the impending Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth. The Prince of Wales has previously visited Denmark in December 2009 and Norway in May 2010. This Nordic trip will be the Prince’s first official visit to Sweden, and The Duchess of Cornwall’s first official visit to all three countries.
