The government allowance is adjusted twice a year in accordance with development of the pay index for state sector employees. As of 1 October 2011, the civil list payment totals DKK 75.5 million a year, of which HRH The Prince Consort receives 10 percent and HRH Princess Benedikte receives 1.5 percent, corresponding to DKK 7.5 million and DKK 1.1 million respectively.
In addition to the government allowance for The Queen, the Civil List Act provides an allowance of DKK 18.6 million for HRH The Crown Prince, of which HRH The Crown Princess receives 10 percent. HRH Prince Joachim gets an allowance of DKK 3.3 million.
Under income tax law and the Act on the Registration of Motor Vehicles, The Queen, the Prince Consort, Princess Benedikte, TRH The Crown Prince and the Crown Princess, and TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are exempted from paying income tax, vehicle registration tax, etc.Copyright 2013
