HRH PRINCE JOACHIM & HRH PRINCESS MARIE

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were married in Møgeltønder Church on 24 May 2008. The wedding festivities were held at Schackenborg Castle.

Prince Joachim is the son of The Queen and the Prince Consort. The prince is in line to succeed to the throne and is the regent when The Queen and the Crown Prince are out of the country. Princess Marie is the daughter of Alain Cavallier and Françoise Grassiot. Her father, Alain Cavallier, is a former partner of an advertising agency and is now retired. Her mother, Françoise Grassiot, is the owner of a hotel.

Children

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie together have a son, HH Prince Henrik, and HH Princess Athena. Prince Joachim has together with HE Countess Alexandra two sons, HH Prince Nikolai and HH Prince Felix. 

Residence

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie live with their son, Prince Henrik, and their daughter in Schackenborg Castle in Møgeltønder. When the couple is in Copenhagen, they live in Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.
