The Crown Prince has taken the initiative for the award together with the Danish Export Association, and His Royal Highness is chairman of the jury, which consists of a number of top executives from Danish export companies. The objective of the award is to honor businesses or individuals that have made a special effort to promote sustainable Danish solutions globally.

The awards went to the following:

  • The Business Excellence award was given to the British company SAV Systems, which offers optimal indoor climate systems with the least possible energy waste. SAV Systems is an important distributor and partner for Kamstrup A/S in the British market, and it has delivered impressive results to the benefit of Kamstrup. Through close cooperation and experiences with Danish technology partners, SAV Systems designs solutions tailored to British demands.
  • The Green Solutions award was handed out to the Australian company RATE Australia Pty. Ltd, which specializes in passenger bridges and other airport equipment. RATE Australia Pty. Ltd is the distributor for the Danish company ITW GSE, which has achieved great success in the Australian airport industry. RATE saw the potential in ITW's new battery-driven power supply, with which they hit upon the idea of storing surplus electricity from a large solar panel facility. The airport then uses the power for normal operation or during peak loads. In this way, RATE’s innovative approach not only benefits the customer, but also ITW and ITW’s entire distributor network, which gains new knowledge and inspiration.
  • The Newcomer of The Year award was given to Green Instruments USA Inc., which is owned by Green Instruments A/S. The parent company develops and produces monitoring equipment primarily for the maritime industry, for which global environmental legislation, in particular, is the driving force. Since establishment, the subsidiary company has contributed with customer-oriented product development and delivered results in the USA, which has provided increased demand, created growth in recognized industries and strengthened Green Instruments’ level of service in the American market.

Along with the award comes a statuette created by sculptor Jørgen Pedersen.

From now on, the “HRH Crown Prince Frederik International Business Awards” will be given out once a year in the categories Business Excellence, Green Solutions and Newcomer of The Year. The award is a continuation of the Royal Danish House’s long-time effort to promote Danish business interests – an effort Prince Henrik elucidated more than 35 years ago with “The Danish Export Association’s Diploma” and “HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honor”.
