New postage stamp in connection with the 50th birthday of HRH The Crown Princess
In connection with the 50th birthday of HRH The Crown Princess on 5 February 2022, the Greenlandic telecom and postal service provider Tusass issues a new postage stamp.
The new postage stamp is issued both in single copies and in mini-sheets with four copies.
The photo that creates the stamp’s motif, in which The Crown Princess is dressed in the traditional Greenlandic national costume, was taken by photographer Stine Heilmann.
At the request of Her Royal Highness, a donation from the sale of the stamp is given to the Dandelion Center in Nuuk. The Dandelion Center is an independent institution that has existed since 2006, and it is both an activity center for children and young people as well as a shelter and 24-hour ward for emergency placement of socially disadvantaged children from the ages of 3 to 11 years.
In addition, the Dandelion Center is part of a collaboration with VIVE – The Danish Center for Social Science Research concerning various studies and evaluations of work with socially disadvantaged children and young people.
