The Royal House of Denmark is a wholly special workplace in a unique environment. The Court attends to a wide range of tasks in connection with The Royal Family’s activities. It is a workplace with great professional pride and great commitment. The tasks are numerous and the workforce spans a wide range of professions.
The Court seeks to be an attractive workplace, where the employees’ motivation, development and well-being are supported for the pleasure and benefit of resolving the task. Skilful and motivated employees are crucial for reliable and professional operation of the Court.
At the Court, there are approximately 130 permanent employees – some of whom perform service tasks while others perform administrative and development tasks as well as management tasks. The group of employees who are called Court servants include, among others, cooks, valets, table deckers, coachmen, chauffeurs, chamber assistants, chamber maids, cleaners and office assistants. In addition to this, the Court consists of employees who work with, respectively, communications, secretarial tasks, finance and personnel as well as cabinetmaking.
For The Royal House of Denmark, it is a priority to connect apprentices, students and interns under training to the Court’s many departments. At the Court, there are apprenticeships in the Workshop, student internships in both the Communications Department and the Events Department as well as vocational trainees in various departments. In 2022, a total of 20 apprentices and business, vocational and student interns were attached to the Workshop, the Royal Mews, and the Lord Chamberlain’s Office.
The employment conditions for the employees of the Court are based primarily on the state agreements and regulations supplemented by local agreements.
