HM The Queen and HRH The Crown Princess welcomed Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge to Denmark during a reception at Amalienborg on 23 February 2022.
The Duchess is on a two-day working visit in Copenhagen, where Her Royal Highness is visiting a number of institutions in the capital. The Duchess wants to gain greater insight into how better conditions are created for children and young people in vulnerable positions in Denmark and how good results for children’s well-being and mental health have been achieved with early intervention.

This year, both The Queen and HM Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain celebrate jubilees of their reigns, with 50 and 70 years on the throne respectively, and the day’s visit at Amalienborg was thus also a celebration of the two anniversaries.
The reception of The Duchess took place in Christian IX’s Palace, where The Queen resides. The palace is named after Christian IX, who is the great-great grandfather of both The Queen and Queen Elizabeth.
