HRH The Crown Prince's visit in New York - day 3
The Crown Prince began the third day of the visit 21 September 2023 by attending the opening of the “Summit of the Future Ministerial Meeting”, at which the UN secretary-general and ministers of the UN’s member states set out their visions, priorities and expectations for “Summit of the Future”, which will take place during UNGA79 in 2024.
The ambition for “Summit of the Future” is to lay the groundwork for strengthened global cooperation and joint commitment.
The Crown Prince participated together with UN Ambassador Christina Markus Lassen in the meeting, which took place in the Finn Juhl chamber at the UN Headquarters. In 1949, Denmark, Norway and Sweden offered to arrange the three large permanent council chambers in the UN building. Architect and furniture designer Finn Juhl was commissioned to design the middle of the three rooms, the Trusteeship Council Chamber.
