In connection with the state visit from Spain, HM The Queen bid farewell to TM The King and The Queen of Spain the morning of 8 November 2023.

The official farewell took place at Fredensborg Place, where The King and The Queen of Spain signed a window pane and wrote in the guestbook.

Overnight guests of royal rank or heads of state on both private and official visits have made inscriptions on window panes since 1841.

The Crown Prince Couple and The King and The Queen of Spain visited Danish Architecture Center / BLOX. Upon arrival, The Crown Prince Couple and The King and Queen of Spain were received by Realdania CEO Jesper Nygård, Danish Architecture Center CEO Kent Martinussen, BLOXHUB CEO Torben Klitgaard, Creative Denmark Executive Director Majken Kalhave and Dansk Design Center COO Sune Knudsen.

The Crown Prince Couple and The King and The Queen of Spain participated in a roundtable discussion on sustainable urban development and planning. At the roundtable discussion, Eva Ravnborg, a partner and project director at the architecture firm Henning Larsen, and Alfonso Vegara Gómez, founder and honorary president of Fundacion Metropoli in Madrid, also took part.

Prior to the roundtable discussion, the Crown Prince Couple and The King and The Queen of Spain toured the exhibition “Copenhagen in Common” in the Danish Architecture Center about Copenhagen’s urban development from 1947 until the present time. The exhibition was created in connection with Copenhagen’s designation as the World Capital of Architecture in 2023.
