It has been 50 years since Frederik IX passed away and the throne passed on to HM The Queen. To honor The King, around noon today The Queen, The Crown Prince Couple and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte laid wreaths at Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid’s gravesite at Roskilde Cathedral. At the ceremony, the Chaplain-in-Ordinary read a text and concluded with the Lord’s Prayer, before a trumpeter from the Royal Danish Navy Band played “Denmark’s last post”.
