Queen Lovisa’s wedding bracelets is a part of the jewellery in The Danish Royal Property Trust.
Share
Among The Danish Royal Property Trust’s bracelets, you can find three gold bracelets that belonged to Queen Lovisa and were presented by her husband, Frederik VIII, on very special occasions.
Lovisa thus received a wide, gold bracelet with eight square sections, each ornamented with a large pearl surrounded by 16 diamonds, as an engagement gift on 15 July 1868.
As a wedding gift the year after, on 28 July 1869, she received a heavy, broad chain bracelet with an oval, locket-like fastener with a crowned mirrored monogram, FF, in diamonds, rubies and emeralds. Concealed inside is a miniature portrait of her spouse. The locket can be unhitched from the bracelet and used as a pendant on a chain.
For the silver wedding anniversary on 28 July 1894, the gift from her husband was a heavy chain bracelet of gold with square sections and two very large brilliant-cut diamonds and, in between, a large, cabochon-cut sapphire.
