The Jarretière is a part of the jewellery in The Danish Royal Property Trust.

This somewhat different, flat gold bracelet is a so-called ‘jarretiére’. That is the French word for the jewellery piece’s inspiration, a garter, which was a practical article of clothing from the time before elastic held up the stockings. The bracelet can be fastened in various lengths with a clasp shaped as a red enamel flower with a ruby between five diamond-studded petals in the middle.
The bracelet belonged to Queen Sofia of Sweden, who was married to Oscar II, and came to The Danish Royal Property Trust via their niece, Queen Lovisa of Denmark.
