State visit in China
The Queen and The Prince Consort pay a state visit in China from 24-28 April 2014.
Under the headline of sustainability, the state visit will have a focus on the broad Danish-Chinese cooperation within, among other things, energy and environment, innovation, investment, transport, the maritime sector, health and food products as well as food product safety and Danish design.
There will be an official reception of The Queen and The Prince Consort in Beijing by the Chinese Presidential Couple including inspection of the honour guard at the Great Hall of the People. Afterwards, The Queen and The Prince Consort will hold a meeting with China’s president, H.E. Xi Jinping, and participate in the President’s state banquet. In addition, The Queen and The Prince Consort will visit companies and institutions, attend the opening of a business conference focused on sustainability, launch the Danish culture push in China and visit The Forbidden City.
In Shanghai, The Queen and The Prince Consort will participate in the opening of an innovation and investment conference and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Danish-Chinese shipping agreement, visit a Danish design event and Danish companies, and sail on the Huangpu River.
The Queen and The Prince Consort had an official visit in China in 1979 and, in 2012, the then-Chinese president, Hu Jintao; had a state visit in Denmark.
