HRH The Crown Prince participates in route presentation of Tour de France 2022 in Paris
On 14 October 2021, HRH The Crown Prince takes part in the presentation of the overall route for Tour de France 2022, which begins in Denmark next year. In the French capital, The Crown Prince will also lead a Danish business delegation of companies that work with health, cycling and sustainability.

Together with minister for industry, business and financial affairs Simon Kollerup and mayors from the five Danish finish and start cities, The Crown Prince will be present in Paris when tour director Christian Prudhomme unveils the complete route for Tour de France 2022, of which the first three stages will take place in Denmark the days of 1-3 July 2022 under the banner “Grand Départ Copenhagen Denmark”.
The presentation focuses on Denmark and the special Danish cycling culture that is well-known throughout the world. After the route presentation, The Crown Prince’s visit in Paris will continue, among other places, at the House of Denmark on the Champs-Élysées, where the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs host a business promotional campaign that will focus on the cycling infrastructure in Copenhagen and Danish gastronomy.
In 2022, the Tour de France starts with a 13-kilometer individual time trial in Copenhagen. The second stage goes from Roskilde over the Storebælt Bridge to Nyborg, and the third stage continues on from Vejle to Sønderborg. In all, 394 kilometers of the cycling race will traverse Danish soil. The Tour de France is the world’s biggest bicycle race, and it’s the first time that parts of the route will wind through Denmark.
