Programme for state visit from Vietnam
The Queen and The Prince Consort bid Vietnam’s President, HE Truong Tan Sang, and First Lady Mai Thi Hanh welcome to Denmark on 18 – 20 September 2013.
The programme for the state visit reflects that Vietnam and Denmark have historically had a long and close cooperative relationship. The state visit is focused on trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, particularly in regard to climate, energy and green growth as well as education, culture and research.
A Vietnamese business delegation of approximately 50 companies takes part in a business conference in connection with the state visit, and the President will visit companies specializing in, among other things, climate, energy and green growth.

At arrival in Danish airspace, HE The President’s airplane will be escorted by two F-16 jets from the Danish Air Force.

HE President Truong Tan Sang and First Lady Mai Thi Hanh arrive at Copenhagen International Airport, Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal. The President and the First Lady are greeted by The Queen and The Prince Consort, The Crown Prince Couple, TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, and Princess Benedikte.

HRH The Crown Prince hosts a business luncheon at the Hermitage Palace with the participation of the President, the Vietnamese delegation and Danish business leaders.
Guided sailing tour in Copenhagen Harbour

The President is accompanied by The Crown Prince on a sailing tour in Copenhagen Harbour, where some of Copenhagen’s solutions for sustainable development, including energy efficiency, wastewater treatment and solid waste management, are presented. On the sailing tour, Minister for Climate, Energy and Building Martin Lidegaard and others will take part. Departure is from Nordre Toldbod.

Luncheon in Frederik VIII's Palace

HRH The Crown Princess hosts a luncheon for the First Lady in Frederik VIII’s Palace, where The Mary Foundation and its focus areas will be presented.
Humlebien (kindergarten)

The Crown Princess and the First Lady visit the kindergarten “The Bumblebee” in Hellerup, where the institution’s work with The Mary Foundation’s project “Free from Bullying” is introduced. The kindergarten’s teachers, together with the children there, will demonstrate the use of the project’s tools.
The National Museum

The First Lady visits the National Museum, where there will be a conducted tour of the exhibition VIKING, whose principal object is the 37 metre long Viking ship Ægir. The ship is being exhibited for the first time since it was found in Roskilde in 1997.

The President visits Novo Nordisk and is introduced to the company and its non-profit organization, the Steno Diabetes Center. During the visit, the President will be shown production facilities and innovative design for patients with diabetes.
The Danish Parliament and the Office of the Prime Minister

The President visits Christiansborg Palace, where there will be meetings with the Danish Parliament’s Speaker, Mogens Lykketoft, and Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, as well as signing of the agreement “Joint Statement on the Comprehensive Partnership” in the Office of the Prime Minister.

The President visits DHI, where there is work on development of technology within the areas of water, environment and health. The President will, among other things, inspect DHI’s model testing facilities.

Vietnamese Reciprocal Event

The President and the First Lady hold a Reciprocal Event at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in honour of The Queen and The Prince Consort. From the royal family, The Queen and The Prince Consort, the Crown Prince Couple, and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie participate in a concert in the Central Hall and the following reception in the Winter Garden.

The President pays a visit to the Lord Mayor at Copenhagen’s City Hall with the focus on urban planning and environmental friendliness. Representatives from Danish companies take part in the visit.
Lynetten

The President visits Lynetten, where there will be a presentation of the purification of wastewater at the treatment plant Lynetten.
Business conference in the House of Industry

Accompanied by The Crown Prince, the President visits a business conference in The House of Industry. The President gives a speech at the conference, which is arranged by the Confederation of Danish Industry in cooperation with the Danish Agriculture and Food Council and The Danish Shipowners’ Association.
Afterwards, the President takes part in a Confederation of Danish Industry reception, where Vietnamese food will be served.

Bagsværd School

Accompanied by Education Minister Christine Antorini, the First Lady visits Bagsværd School, where she will be given an introduction to the school system in Denmark and the daily work at Bagsværd School. During the visit, the First Lady greets some of the school’s students and witnesses teaching with the use of interactive tools.
