State visit from Iceland on 8-9 October 2024
At the invitation of TM The King and The Queen, the President of Iceland, HE Halla Tómasdóttir, and her spouse, Mr. Björn Skúlason, will pay a state visit to Denmark the days of 8-9 October 2024.
The Icelandic state visit is the first incoming state visit for The King and The Queen and the first outward-bound state visit for the newly elected Icelandic President. The state visit emphasises the historical ties and the close relationship between Denmark and Iceland.
During the visit, the Presidential Couple will be accompanied by a business delegation with a focus on strengthening of Danish-Icelandic cooperation and on shared ambitions on the broad sustainability agenda. In addition, there will be a joint focus on technological solutions in connection with digital and green transformation.
On the first day of the visit, The King and The Queen will officially receive the Presidential Couple and host a State Dinner in honour of the Presidential Couple.
The final programme and the news media programme for the visit will be released at a later date. Requests for news media accreditation will take place via the International Press Centre (IPC).
