In his role as patron of CARE Danmark, HRH Prince Joachim travels to Tanzania and Kenya from 31 August – 11 September to visit the aid organisation’s development projects. It is the Prince’s 9th trip to CARE Danmark’s program countries.

Prince Joachim visits Tanzania and Kenya to see the organisation’s development projects in areas such as adapting to and mitigating climate change and combating poverty, and to gain a broad insight into the challenges the African continent faces.

The program also includes a meeting with collaborating groups that help reduce poverty in villages and strengthen the position of women in the family and in the community. On Zanzibar, the Prince is, among other things, going to see CARE’s forest projects and the organisation’s work to couple them with the CO2 credit market. 

“As patron for CARE Danmark, I look forward to seeing again with my own eyes the results of the important efforts we make in Africa to create sustainable development among the most vulnerable populations – this time in Tanzania and Kenya,” says Prince Joachim about his upcoming trip.
